MTB, paragliding, rock-climbing, Le Salève is a super playground for the older too !

Paragliding

Play with the wind, get high and fly over the town and nature, admiring the grandiose countryside. The Salève is really an exceptional « spot » for parapenters.


There are three take-off sites used by the free-flying schools :

-  the take-off zone « The cable car » : it is situated at the top of the cable car, to the left of the upper station, on the green esplanade next to the restaurant.
Wind : North-East/North sector

-  the take-off zone "The orientation table" :it is situated 10 minutes by foot from the cable car. Just follow the path above the games areas to reach it. . Wind : North-East/North sector

- the take-off zone "Crêts" (the name of the area) : it is situated at 30 mins by foot from the upper station of the cable car. During the July and August weekends, a free shuttle bus links the cable car to the Crêtes in under 15 mins.
Wind : West/South-West sector

Attention : the Salève site is regulated by the TMA (at 300 metres of maximum relief)

MTB

The Mont Salève is also an ideal terrain for all types of mountain bikers. Beginners, amateurs or professionals – the Salève paths are waiting for you to ride down them and up too!
For those who would just like to enjoy the descents, the cable car carries your bike up to the top free of charge (so long as you accompany it on the way up !)

Rock climbing

escalade au salève_bmsv The Salève is a cradle for rock climbing. It is true that on this mountain the term “varappe” was taken from the name of a rocky couloirs on the Salève, on which only a daring few have ventured.

Walks

With its 130 km of paths, the Salève is also a paradise for walkers, young and old !
In fact, you will find walks of all different levels, but find out before you leave about the weather forecast, the difficulty of the walk and always bear in mind that you are in the mountains. A full mountain kit is de rigueur!
