A creation linking Man and Nature
Inaugurated in 1932, the Salève cable car is an avant-garde creation linking the town to the mountain.
The first urban cable car, it allows both inhabitants and visitors to the French-Geneva area, to access an altitude of 1100 metres in less than 5 minutes.
From there, a huge range of Activities are available:
simply enjoying the panorama from the terrace
savouring a good meal, a coffee or a bilberry tart in the new restaurant
botanical, geological or mycological discovery around the cable car
family or sporty walks over the 80 footpaths on the Salève
guaranteed moments of excitement with a paraglide, on a MTB or rock-climbing
and many other things to discover in the activities section
Working 10 months a year (cf the opening calendar in the section Opening times) every year the cable car welcomes more than 100 000 travellers.
